What does your café offer?
Our café offers simple dishes, as well as desserts, cakes and drinks. We offer both western cuisine and Thai specialties.
How long can I rent a bungalow?
There is no minimum length of stay, you can stay as long as you like. We are especially happy to welcome long-term guests.
Is there a room service?
We consider the bungalow Your living space, so we want to disturb you as little as possible. Our room service will change your bed linens every three days, provide you with new clean towels, and clean the bungalow. As in any rental situation, we provide a clean place and ask you to do the same when you leave.
The island
How can I get around the island?
We recommend renting a scooter/motorcycle. We can refer you to reputable motorcycle renters who rent at a good price.
Where can I do my shopping?
You won't find supermarket chains like 7-Eleven, Lotus or Big C - but there are many family-run mini-markets here, with everything you need. However, if you need something special, it's best to play it safe and bring it from home or the mainland.
What is the weather like on Koh Kood?
The weather on Koh Kood consists of 3 seasons. The cool dry season lasts from November to February and is the ideal time for vacations on Koh Kood with 27°C to 30°C during the day and approximately 24°C at night. The hot season lasts from March to the end of May. During this time it is hot and humid with 30°C+ during the day and 26°C at night. The rainy season is from the end of May to the end of October with 33°C+ during the day and 24°C at night. It often rains once a day with sunny spells in between. At this time of the year the waterfalls are especially beautiful because of their water masses.
How is the infrastructure of the island?
There is a very local hospital, a central police station, ATMs and a small bank. 4G/5G mobile phone coverage is available. For internet access, we suggest a local SIM card would be your best option.
Arrival and departure
How do I get to Koh Kood from the mainland?
Koh Kood does not have its own airport, so you have to take a boat from Trat to reach Koh Kood. From Trat City, you can take a pickup taxi to Laem Sok Pier, from where Koh Kood Island can be reached from the mainland. Three boat companies operate from Laem Sok Pier. The trip takes one to two hours and costs 350 Thai baht ($ 11) per person upwards, which also includes a pickup taxi transfer to your hotel on the island. Most boats depart from Laem Sok Pier in the morning and at noon.
How do I get to Trat?
To get to Trat, you can either take a select flight to Trat Airport, which is usually available in high season. Therefore, in low season, always check with Trat Airport before booking, as flight schedules change from time to time. You can also take private transportation from Bangkok hotels to Trat. Probably the cheapest way to get to Trat is to take a bus from Bangkok to Trat City.
A good alternative is the Boonsiri ferry bus that departs from Khao San road (central Bangkok) and your ticket will take you all the way to your resort in Koh Kood, arriving at 1:00 pm. We suggest that you do not buy a return ticket as Koh Kood has a habit of making people want to stay longer.
How do I get to Koh Kood from a neighboring island?
If you are already on Koh Chang or Koh Mak, there are boat trips to Koh Kood there as well. Just go to one of the many tourist information offices the day before your trip and get a ticket. On Koh Chang, the ferries leave from Bang Bao Pier at 9:00 or 10:00 am and cost 700 Thai baht ($ 20) per person upwards, which also includes a cab transfer from your hotel in Koh Chang and a transfer to your hotel in Koh Kood. This trip takes two to four hours. This ferry calls into Koh Mak to pick up any passengers going to Koh Kood.
How do I get back to the mainland from Koh Kood?
From Koh Kood back to the mainland, boats leave at 9:00 am and 12:00. Connections can be made to Trat airport and/or bus to Bangkok airport.
